Halkidiki  is a large peninsula, which is washed by the Aegean Sea and only N.N.W. is connected to the main body of Macedonia through the region of Thessaloniki. In the southern part of Halkidiki, three characteristic elongated peninsulas are formed which are from west to east: the peninsula of Kassandra, the peninsula of Sithonia and the peninsula of Athos.

The capital of the Prefecture of Halkidiki is Polygyros. It is located in the geographical middle of the prefecture, while the administrative center of Mount Athos is Karyes.

The western coast of Halkidiki, located very close to Thessaloniki, is characterized by its crystal clear seas, its large and sandy beaches and its green areas. Kassandra Peninsula

Kassandra is the westernmost peninsula of the Chalkidiki trident. It is one of the most famous places in Halkidiki with a particular tourist development and intense nightlife, having a lot to show in terms of the cultural and tourist sectors.

Sithonia Peninsula

Sithonia is located in the middle peninsula of Chalkidiki and has similar natural beauties to those of Kassandra.
